The Eid shopping activities are at its peak in every nook and corner of the city including cantonment areas while shopping/commercial centres are heavily crowded. The markets and shopping centres remain open all night long as the people keep on pouring in the markets since 20th of Ramazan.

A survey conducted by the Business Recorder observed that the over all sale of was at its lowest ebb in Sialkot and its adjoining areas this year.

The Eid cards sellers said that increased use of mobile phones and Internet had caused this sharp decline, as people were benefiting from the facilities and transmitting their messages and greetings via Internet and mobile phones at quite cheaper rates, they pointed out.

Apart from this, repeated designs and high prices of greeting cards had failed to attract the people, they added and suggested that publishers and printers should focus attention on improvement of the designs and quality of greeting cards.

The traditional commodity, bangles, are attracting large rush of women and girls of all age groups. Multani and Hyderabadi glass bangles are very much in demand. Mehndi points are largely crowded as usual.
